About Bamboo Roots
-
Bamboo Roots is a community-based nonprofit created to support Karenni, refugee, and immigrant individuals, youth, and families through culturally responsive programs, community engagement, wellness initiatives, and cultural preservation efforts. Bamboo Roots is rooted in culture, community connection, and collective healing, working alongside the Karenni community in Winston-Salem to support youth, families, and community wellbeing.
We believe that when communities are connected to their culture, supported by trusted relationships, and given opportunities to grow and lead, they can thrive and strengthen future generations.
-
Our mission is to nurture community growth by preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage. We aim to achieve this through education, empowerment, collaboration, and by connecting our community to vital resources. Our goal is to build a stronger, more connected community where individuals thrive, future generations maintain a strong cultural identity, and everyone has access to the support and tools they need to succeed.
